Media and Information Literacy subject helped me a lot in knowing in depth fields in media. I was able to know or to differentiate rather the traditional media from modern media and how it runs. It enabled me to think carefully and critically based on the topic that has been given. It is very significant to us, the youths, where in we are very careless in clicking and in disseminating information online. We were dominated by fake news and other propaganda that has been served to us. We can be easily tamed and believed even it doesn't have evidence that it is true. It made us media pro or expert, we are now careful in doing some stuff in social media since, in just few seconds, million of people can be reached with the information we have given.


FIVE THINGS TO HELP PROMOTE BETTER LITERACY AMONG OTHERS

1. EDUCATE YOUR FELLOW YOUTH
           Educating or teaching your fellow youth about the rules in media can help them a lot. They can now determine things that are good or bad for them or for others.

2. STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS
           A no, no, no, no to media. People who are not aware about how things run in social media can be easily deceived by fake news disseminating online. It is also one of the major reason why many people are media illiterate because of sharing wrong information online.

3. SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN MEDIA
           Through this, you can help a lot of people in knowing their limitations in social media and how to use it correctly.

4. OBSERVE
           By observing, people would be aware about the things they share in any platform of media.

5. GENERATING AWARENESS
           People should know about the importance of media. Creating awareness among them will generate a positive attitude toward media.

PLOT:

         Around the end of the 1200's, oppressed by King Edward "Long shanks" who rules England with an iron fist, the noble and charismatic Scot of humble descent, William Wallace, leads a righteous campaign to end tyranny. In this gallant quest for freedom, the gifted strategist and mighty warrior will amass the hordes of the oppressed Scotsmen who thirst to reclaim their independence, however, the road to liberty is always drenched in blood.

Though Braveheart is a work of fiction, the premise is rooted in fact. The character of William Wallace is very real, as are the battles he fought in. Though, of course, as Mel Gibson does, he may have embellished the story just a touch.

            

        William Wallace (Mel Gibson) which is the lead character of the movie had caught my eye. He is beyond courageous, someone who would risk his life for his country and their freedom from England to end tyranny. I admire his bravery so much that even before his death he whispered 'freedom' into the wind. At the time of war, he had lost his family yet what could have been more painful that he even lost his other half yet he did not stop fighting for what is right and must for Scotland. He was the hero who set free Scotland from England and until now, Scots admires his heroine. 

        I, to be honest can never do such thing William Wallace did for his country, however, on the other hand I can say that being brave is not just about fighting for your country and risking your own life but of course it is something in yourself that becomes your weapon when it times of your downfall and overcoming your shortcomings in life. It is something that you face instead of avoiding the problems itself. Overall, I could relate to William Wallace in some other way.

"Braveheart" movie had fully satisfied my desires of what it is to be. Every inch of the movie has a meaning behind it that wouldn't really buffer your mind out. The contradicting ideas are also great as well as how the writer distinguish every role of the character portray. I will neither change nor improve the plot or the character since I really love how they made the movie.

Hair Product Commercial

                                      

         There were two girls wearing the 'kimonos' which is the traditional costume of Japan. There was also a man who paints Kathryn's portrait with a bunch of Sakura (cherry blossoms) flowers and a pink Sunsilk shampoo in the painting.

                               
     
            The setting of the said commercial is in a Traditional Japanese house called 'Minka' with a tatami flooring, sliding doors, and wooden verandas. The angle of the commercial is a long shot to emphasize the theme and a little bit of close up to create justification of the elements.

                              

        It started when they visited a painter to have their portrait, the painter added flowers specifically cherry blossoms beneath and above the portrait because of the scent of the shampoo they are using. It has captured the painter's idea to create something more creative than what they have expected. They are using Sunsilk sakura and raspberry shampoo and smooth and bagong-gigil hair para game all day.  

I think the most potent or effective way to sell a product is first to convince the buyers what could they benefit from it by exposing everything great and its effects to the people and how could you shine and rise by using that product. However, that technique might also have its drawbacks. Doing it in a creative and imaginative way might also add an extra points for the product just like for example in this commercial they had used Japanese concept in related to the scent of the shampoo they are selling.

Dear Future Generations: Sorry

Forests give us oxygen, food, shelter, medicines, fuel, and furniture. Forests protect us from the heat of the sun, and from wind, cold, and rain. Forests maintain the balance of nature, the environment, the climate, the weather, and the composition of the atmosphere. As a matter of fact, forests are our life. But what are we doing? We are destroying the forests, meaning we are destroying our life and our future. All the problems we face today are made worse by deforestation. If we are thinking beings, we must save plants and forests, because they save us.

Forests are rapidly disappearing due to human greediness and satisfaction of their own selves. Deforestation and illegal logging are the lead cause of degradation of most  rain forest in the world. Nature is connected to us -- humans, yet we cannot be satisfied of what nature give us so, we tend to cross the line or boundary set for us. We are told in the video about the sufferings of the future generations might experience if we ignore this phenomena we created. 

The video is really great since it really touched my heart and also I feel guilty somehow about the wrongdoings we have done in our  nature. We only think about us, about our future of our generation but not the future of the people who will exist after us.

The video is trying to warn the millennial generation about our mistakes that we should correct now. The time is now, we need to do something significant to help our nature, to build a home of comfort to the new generation.

The video is very effective to those who watched it, because you will really realized how we abused our nature within our satisfaction. Realizing that nature gives us everything we need but we still tend to use it in a wrong way.

In early times, man had a good relationship with Mother Earth, but since humans developed cities and industries, the modern lifestyle has changed. Man has been using and misusing natural resources up to the limit. Now we are tearing up remote corners of the planet looking for crude oil and coal, and our forests and wild animals are disappearing. Our environment is totally polluted: we drink polluted water, inhale air full of dust, and eat food with traces of pesticides and other toxic chemicals. Hence we are suffering from diseases. As a result of human activities, the ozone layer has a hole, the sea is rising, and the ice caps of Antarctica and Greenland are melting. Now global warming is warning us that climate change is not a hoax and it is coming. Mother Earth is in danger; life on Earth is in danger. Let us come together to save our life-giving and life-saving Mother Earth.

"The importance of modern media to me as part of the youth and as a Filipino."

According to Brian Neese, new media refers to those digital media that are interactive, incorporate two-way communication and involve some form of computing. In my own words, new media is highly interactive than the old media, it allows to produce multiple operations of the same object simultaneously. Through the years of improving the means of communication, the participation of the audiences in the new media evolve. The use of algorithms, which is an essential part of the new media, do not depend on technology but can be performed by humans.

As a part of the new generation or commonly called as the 'millennial generation', we were born in an advanced technology era where we can easily access the internet or disseminate information to other people. Life becomes easy when technology shaped people, new media lessened the time that is needed to accomplish a certain task. As a youth, new media made us join in digital world which we could interact with the technology and create a multiple data in the same time.

Social media has been the most common in the means of communication nowadays, it helped a lot of individuals to contact their loved ones far from them in seconds. However, social media has become dangerous for those reckless people who does not think before posting in the internet that usually lead to fake news and miscommunication. It became the medium of fan-wars, discrimination or usually called cyber bullying.

There are so many ways to improve that, first think be you click, that would be the most important. Analyzing the result that might happen could lead into better decision. Next is don.t be fooled by everything you see in social media, never be reckless in doing such things because social media is a worldwide means of communication. Everything you post in social media, everyone in the world will see it. In the contrary, new media has a lot of benefits if we will just use it in a good way.

New Day Ahead

First day of school in second semester made my mind buffer for all the works that we need to do throughout the whole semester, not to mention my own personal problems...I'm dazedddddddddd
